Analysis of accidents


 

(1)Today newspaper says that “Five people driving in Maruti dies after their car dash into a truck parked in the middle of road, without parking light and it was the place where there was no light.

My question is that the fault of person who was driving the car or the truck driver or the government or way the administration works. Let us start one by one.

v  It can not be the fault of driver because at night on highway generally the speed can be sixty kilometer per-hour. Moreover no body expects the truck to be at the centre of road.

v  Truck driver is also responsible because if there was no light then the truck must have to be parked on the side, not on the middle.

v  But in my opinion is that not having light on the road was one of the major case. Generally if such the things happen in day time one can see the obstacle and can avoid it. I have seen so many cases  in which as soon as darkness comes we say

that as there is a dark we will it tomorrow. But leaving truck in centre on road in night and on the place there was no light ,was quiet astonishing.

 

My thinking is that we Indians ,have to leave the  tendency of ignoring the things

which  are very necessary on ground level. Government is equally responsible for accident ,not having light on highway was there  responsibility. There must be mechanism for national highways in which  obstacle can be cleared as soon as possible.

(2)                Few days back there were news that the a electricity Lineman while repairing get struck to the high voltage and died. The person was contract labour. There was dharna etc for his compensation money.

It was very sad news. If you look around you, you will find that the line’s man are generally under payed they do  not any facility and also they do not have any basic security equipment. The most of them learn all the techniques by seeing other. They are generally uneducated. Power supply and power distributed is a scientifically big management. These line mans are the main persons  for power distribution   They are not having any vehicle  for carrying ladder etc ., other than hand driver trolley. This tradition of trolley is must be 50  year old.

 

I am writing this on Ist May which is laborer’s day also ,I want to say  that while framing big policies for power shortage  the ground level reality should also be taken in account .electrical technician and lineman’s should be treated as human being. I was watching  National Geography channel, in which team of linesman were  headed by woman. Every members  was very passionate about their work

 

As a educator my opinion is that there must be formal training ,security back up and well equipments  for the safety of staff and efficient power distribution
